I was in Ann Arbor on Sunday afternoon for the Harlot Event. She is hilarious and even sometimes funny. I know that everyone's been saying it, but I think it bears repeating that it was freakin' hot. It was hot but it was worth it. I have never been in a room filled with so many socks in progress. It's like a sock epidemic. Don't call the CDC.
I, on the other hand, was working on my deadline project - the Lilly of the Valley Shawl from Galina Kmeleva. (Now, I don't know if I spelled that right) The pattern is from Knitters magazine Summer 2004. I started it last summer and then put it down for a while and now I'm moving along quite well. Only about 400 rows to go. the great thing about it is that every other row gets shorter by 1 stitch. I have about 200 stitches left and I need to get to 7.
I have a picture of Stephanie herself admiring my nups. Sounds kind of porno-ish when I say it that way. Believe me, everyone was fully dressed at the time.
I also met Amy and Rachel. It was a great time. Stephanie stayed until the last knitter had their books signed. she spoke to everyone like she's known them forever. it was hours and hours and I'm sure she was exhausted but I know we all appreciated her.
