Nups with the Harlot

I was in Ann Arbor on Sunday afternoon for the Harlot Event. She is hilarious and even sometimes funny. I know that everyone's been saying it, but I think it bears repeating that it was freakin' hot. It was hot but it was worth it. I have never been in a room filled with so many socks in progress. It's like a sock epidemic. Don't call the CDC.

I, on the other hand, was working on my deadline project - the Lilly of the Valley Shawl from Galina Kmeleva. (Now, I don't know if I spelled that right) The pattern is from Knitters magazine Summer 2004. I started it last summer and then put it down for a while and now I'm moving along quite well. Only about 400 rows to go. the great thing about it is that every other row gets shorter by 1 stitch. I have about 200 stitches left and I need to get to 7.

I have a picture of Stephanie herself admiring my nups. Sounds kind of porno-ish when I say it that way. Believe me, everyone was fully dressed at the time.

I also met Amy and Rachel. It was a great time. Stephanie stayed until the last knitter had their books signed. she spoke to everyone like she's known them forever. it was hours and hours and I'm sure she was exhausted but I know we all appreciated her.

Family Life

Here is a small family scrapbook.
This first picture is Ryan. He's 2. That's my dog Penny with him. I just got her in February when she was 8 weeks old. She is a Basset Hound. We are currently in Manners 201 class at Petsmart and it is going as well as can be expected for a stubborn Basset.
This is Ryan with Maggie. They are finger painting at the dining room table. I wasn't home at the time or I would have put a stop to it. My husband obviously didn't know better. he did, however, put some newspaper down. Maggie is 5.

These two picture are of my two oldest daughters. The black and white picture is of my daughter Chelsea on the left and her friend Courtney. Chelsea is 19 and working and still making some decisions about her life. The right picture is of my oldest daughter Brittney. She is 20 and goes to BYU. She is an English major and is thinking about being a high school English teacher.

I cannot figure out how to get my project picture to post below the family pictures. I'm going to work on that some more tomorrow and then I'll talk about what I'm working on.

I'm New

I've been thinking about having my own blog for some time now. I love the community, I read a lot of blogs and I figured why not give it a go.

I'll mostly be writing about my knitting but there will definitely be some family stuff thrown in.

Ryan (2) is crying to go to bed right now so I will be back tomorrow with some pictures and some more background.
